Love & Wisdom Inc. proudly partners with Spirit of Love Ministry, Inc. to provide ordinations that meet North Carolina’s legal requirements for officiating weddings. The ordination process typically takes about one week.

Spirit of Love Ministry, Inc. is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit church based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Its mission is to unite people under the supreme guiding principle of Love.

Unlike organizations that offer instant online ordinations with little or no qualification process, Spirit of Love Ministry requires applicants to demonstrate an understanding of its principles and commitments before becoming ordained.

To qualify for ordination, applicants must understand and agree to uphold the ministry’s guiding values in both their personal and professional lives.

Being a Spirit of Love Minister means:

— Always erring on the side of creating harmony.
— Working towards the common good, peace, and social justice.
— Developing empathy, humility, compassion, free thought, and altruism.

— Emphasizing ethical development, human dignity, service to others, moral responsibility, and global awareness. 

After completing the two required questionnaires, applicants who meet the qualifications and agree to uphold the ministry’s doctrine will be approved for ordination and receive an official Certificate of Ordination signed by the founder of Spirit of Love Ministry, Diane Gilliam.

Ordination is valid for one year and must be renewed annually to remain active.

It’s crucial that the marriage license is completed properly by the officiant in order for the marriage to be legal. Unfortunately, the government forms can be confusing and mistakes are common. We provide both written and video instructions explaining how to properly complete and return marriage license documents in both North Carolina and South Carolina. Common mistakes and best practices are highlighted throughout.

To make things easier and give you a solid starting point, we provide a professionally designed ceremony template to help create the ceremony script for the wedding. The script may be customized however you wish, with the exception of the legally required portions, which are clearly identified and explained.

We provide step-by-step instructions for leading a wedding rehearsal. Whether you’re responsible for the rehearsal or simply assisting a wedding planner or coordinator, this guide will help ensure everything runs smoothly. This is the same guide that our professional officiants use to make sure everyone is prepared for the big day.

The couple who is getting married will receive free access to our Premarital Essentials Program, which is a self-guided online program designed to strengthen the foundation of their relationship and help them achieve a happy and lasting marriage. This program will guide the couple through the essential conversations and help them avoid the most common marriage problems. While participation in this program is not required, it is included for free in this package, and we highly encourage the couple to work through it at their own pace on your own time.
