Love & Wisdom Inc. proudly partners with Spirit of Love Ministry, Inc. to provide ordinations to those who meet the requirements set forth here.
Spirit of Love Ministry, Inc. is an IRS Certified 501c3 Non-Profit Church based in Charlotte, NC with the mission of uniting all people under the supreme guiding principle of Love.
Unlike the Universal Life Church or American Marriage Ministries, Spirit of Love Ministry requires more than just submitting a form with your name and contact information in order to get ordained. Spirit of Love Ministry requires specific qualifications and adherence to a particular doctrine. In order to become ordained, you must have a strong understanding of the guiding principles, values, and commitments listed here, and also agree to uphold them in your personal and professional life:
- Being inclusive, with an open heart and open mind.
- Focusing on valuing and respecting all people.
- Always erring on the side of creating harmony.
- Working towards the common good, peace, and social justice.
- Developing empathy, humility, compassion, free thought, and altruism.
- Encouraging curiosity, cooperation, collaboration, honesty, generosity, forgiveness, and resilience.
- Emphasizing ethical development, human dignity, service to others, moral responsibility, and global awareness.
Once you have completed the two questionnaires, and it has been determined that you meet the qualifications and agree to adhere to the doctrine, you will be notified and then you will receive a certificate of ordination in the mail from the founder of Spirit of Love Ministry, Diane Gilliam. The ordination is valid for one year, and must be renewed annually to remain valid.
The initial fee is $100 for the first year, due when you enroll here. If for some reason, you do not meet the requirements or qualifications, and your ordination is denied, then a full refund will be issued.
The annual renewal fee is also $100. If you are already a Spirit of Love Ministry Minister and you need to renew your ordination, just click here.
We also offer an Officiant Starter Kit package which, in addition to the ordination, includes a wedding ceremony script template and instructions for completing the marriage licenses from NC and SC. The cost is $160, and this is recommended for folks who have never officiated a wedding before. Click here if you would like to explore this option.
