As a communication expert and college instructor who has taught public speaking since 2016, Jessalyn brings a polished, authentic, and calming presence to every ceremony. She has a natural gift for connecting with people from all walks of life, helping couples feel comfortable sharing their story. Jessalyn embraces a secular philosophy and loves creating ceremonies that are joyful, meaningful, and uniquely personal.
Originally from Concord, North Carolina, Jessalyn spent much of her life in Virginia before happily returning to North Carolina. When she isn’t teaching or officiating weddings, she enjoys baking, hiking, strength training, reading, discovering unique coffee shops with her husband, and cheering on the Charlotte Knights.
“Marriage, to me, is about two things,” Jessalyn says. “First, it’s the promises you make to one another and to the world that strengthen your partnership. Second, it’s navigating life together through the good, the bad, the exciting, and the ordinary, while having as much fun as possible along the way.”
Jessalyn’s passion for officiating was inspired by her own wedding. Although she had never met her officiant before the ceremony, he captured their personalities and sense of humor so perfectly that he instantly became part of their story. That experience showed her just how meaningful an officiant can be, and today she strives to give every couple that same unforgettable feeling.
