“Love isn’t a state of perfect caring. It is an active noun, like ‘struggle’. To love someone is to strive to accept that person exactly the way he or she is, right here and now.”  ~ Fred Rogers

Serving as both an Officiant in the Boone, NC area, as well as one our Happiness Ninjaneers, Kim has come to Love & Wisdom Inc. following a long career in public education. As a Literacy Specialist, she has worked with many students with unique learning needs, helping them search for a path to success. She has also served as a learning partner to underprivileged families seeking better ways to assist their children at home.

“The ceremony was truly perfect and we could not have asked for a better officiant. Kim’s words truly touched us and many people have made a point to tell us how amazing they thought it was.” ~Devin T.

Although she was raised in the Methodist tradition, Kim is not currently affiliated with any organized religion or church. These days, she finds solace and spirituality in nature, and on the hikes and bike rides she takes around the Blue Ridge Mountains with her husband. In Kim’s words, “I believe whole-heartedly in the power of kindness and empathy and in treating all humans with dignity and respect. Service to others, especially those in need, is a form of spirituality for me.”

“We felt included but also taken care of. The ceremony was personal and our Officiant Kim Bentley was wonderful.” ~Clara G.

An avid reader, Kim is always in the middle of two or three books at once! She also enjoys dabbling in creative pursuits such as stained glass, painting and drawing, and she is teaching herself to crochet.

As a wedding officiant, Kim is excited to be able to extend her passion for helping others by working with couples to create authentic, meaningful ceremonies. And we at Love & Wisdom are honored and thrilled to have her on the team!
